Ever found yourself cleaning your room furiously when you have an essay due in? Well, this is what is known as procrastination, or to put it another way, you have an issue with productivity. Don't let this information send you in a tailspin, though, as there are lots of things you can do to make sure you stay as productive as possible. Read on to find out what they are.

Plan enough

The first tactic when it comes to productivity is to plan what you are going to do just enough. I say enough, as planning itself can actually get in the way of productivity if you let it go on for too long. In fact, needing to have that feeling of a perfect plan before you can even start a task is something you need to avoid. Therefore, be sure to plan but also keep your planning time down to a minimum. 5- 10 minutes at the start of the day or at the beginning of a particular detailed task such as a project should be enough.

You can even use the Bujo system for planning if you like. However, do be wary of getting sucked into spending hours on your journal. Yes, I know the temptation to spend every waking minute making it look pretty is strong. Yet this will leave hardly any time for the actual tasks you need to do!

Learn how to be more productive

Another way that you can excel in this area is to learn how those in Business ensure maximum productivity and performance. In fact, there are plenty of productivity training programs that you can do that will help you with this. Courses that will teach you the benefits to the productivity of setting clear objectives, and cover strategies like how to stay motivated in challenging situations. All of which can be very very useful things to have in your productivity toolbox.

Minimise distraction

Minimising direction is also another vital aspect of maximising production. Of course, that means closing down social media for the time you wish to work. Although there are other distractions that are more insidious to watch out for.

These can be things like messages and email that notify you as they arrive. Something that can stop your flow of work and make staying on task partially tricky. With that in mind, while working shut off notifications when you can. Your brain and productivity levels will thank you for it!

Reward success

Finally, a fun way to increase your productivity is to offer a reward to yourself for everything you complete a task. Perhaps the most famous example of this is the pictures on social media of academic textbooks. You know the ones with gummy bears over each paragraph that you get to eat once you have read it.

Although, another great way of doing this is to use the Pomodoro technique. That is for every long session of study or work you do, you get a short break off to do what you want, such as surf social media. A tactic that can help you stay very productive indeed.
