The Ultimate List Of Vegan K-Beauty Brands

Last year I put together a list of cruelty-free Korean beauty brands, which you can totally find here, and ever since then I've had it in my list of blog post ideas to write one specifically for those of you who wish to only use vegan brands. So here I am with that post for you.

This was actually a harder list to make than the last one, since if you have dipped your toes into the world of Korean beauty before you might have noticed how k-beauty products are known for including non-vegan ingredients such as bees extract and venom, honey, snail extract and milk. But those on some occasion are just certain lines within a brand. That's why I'm going to split this list into two. One that included brands that are totally vegan and another for those which are majority vegan minus a few products or collections. For the second one, I'll add a couple of their popular products as well, so hopefully, everyone can find something they love.

I also want to note, that I haven't really tried any of these brands, and the few I have I haven't checked the couple of products I have from them are vegan. But if you would like a review on any of the products or maybe testing out a full skincare routine from one of these brands let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Anyway on to the list.

Vegan K-Beauty Brands:

  • Happy Vegan

  • A.True

  • Mamonde

Mostly (partially) Vegan K-Beauty Brands:

  • Klairs [e.g. Rich Moist Soothing Serum]

  • Thank You Farmer [e.g Back To Pure Daily Foaming Cleanser]

  • Whamisa

  • Benton [e.g Tea Tree Cleansing Water]

  • Cosrx [e.g. Triple C Lightening Liquid]

  • Saturday Skin [e.g. Rise & Shine Purifying Cleanser]

  • Aromatic

  • Neogen

The list is definitely shorter than my cruelty-free one, but as with that one as well, when I find another brand that is vegan I'll add it too the list

But before I sign off this post I'd thought it might be of help to list some ingredients to look out for if you're vegan. Since if, as like the list above, a brand might be partially vegan, so it might be an idea to keep a note of these products that are non-vegan.

Hidden Ingredients To Look Out For If You're A Vegan:

  • Lanolin
    > It is a wax that produced by wooled animals from their sebaceous glands.

  • Bee Products
    > From the honey made by bees to the venom they have, you can find them all in some products.

  • Squalene
    > It is a natural organic compound originally obtained from shark liver oil, but now more often than not found from amaranth seed, rice bran, wheat germ, and olives.

  • Collagen
    > It is a protein found mostly in hair, nails, skin, bone and ligaments, and comes from animal sources such as beef or fish.

  • Hyaluronic Acid
    > It is actually a substance found naturally in human bodies, however, in our products it is being taken from rooster combs or made by bacteria in the laboratory.

With all this information I hope those of you who are vegan and want to try some Korean Skincare or Makeup [most of these brands are Skincare ones I think] can use this as a reference guide to help you find some products you love.

Are you vegan? Do you think you'll try out any of these products?
