dear klairs soft airy uv essence

What is the one thing we have the tendency to miss out from out of our skincare routines?

I don't know if it's just me or not but one thing that I never give its own step is UV protection. Don't get me wrong I like to include it in other products but I've never specifically gone out a purchased a product for the purpose of protecting my skin from the sun.

So when the lovely people at Wishtrend reached out and offer to send me the new dear Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence releases to review, I thought why not take the chance.

This marvellous product is an everyday skin protector, giving protection against both UVA and UVB rays, whilst still being soft, weightless, invisible and doesn't leave greasiness or a white finish. Or so are written in its claims. And you know what I think it can actually tick off all these things that are written on the bottle. Though I can't actually test if it protects against the UV rays [not really something we cover in physic labs] I can definitely vouch for it being all the other things.

The essence also has a high SPF number of 50+ plus PA++++. I still didn't know what the difference was in these two rating systems so I did a little research, that I thought might be helpful for you all too. SPF is the amount of protection you have from the UVB rays, which are those ones you can 'feel' and give the nasty sunburn, whereas the PA factor is the protection against the UVA rays that though give you more of a tan, they are more dangerous since are the ones that you don't sense and penetrate deeper into the skin causing more damage. Since as we can see the essence had high factors for both the protection should be pretty high. Nonetheless, even if it isn't this product don't forget to reapply sun protection throughout the day if your skin is exposed to the sun.

In the past, I've always been one to stay away from face sun-creams since ance and heavy/greasy products don't really go hand in hand, but this product has definitely changed that. The water-based gel textured product has become part of my morning skin routine after I apply my moisturiser and before I put on any makeup if I am putting any on at all that day. Though I'm not sure if this is the best position in my routine for an essence to work at its full potential, it seems to be working well. It doesn't interfere with any of the products I put on my face, which gives it two big thumbs up from me and instead seems to be working kind of like a primer. Though I'm not sure if that's actually the product or the way my skin has been these last couple of weeks.

Finally, a key thing for all you vegans out there, this product does claim to be vegan-friendly. I'm assuming from that it is most likely also cruelty-free, and from my knowledge, dear klairs is indeed cruelty-free; so that gives it all green lights from me.

Overall, I definitely do love having this product as part of my routine. And would highly recommend it to anyone else who wished to add more UV protection to their skincare routine. For any of you who think that just because we're in Autumn now that you don't need to wear much sun protection, I do suggest to keep wearing it; UV rays still come through even when there is cloud cover. Plus protecting your skin from the sun reducing ageing affects on the skin.

As for me would I purchase it again? At just under £18, though a little expensive for those like my on a student budget, I could see myself buying it again, or at least asking for it as a Christmas or birthday gift is asked. It hasn't irritated my acne and I haven't broken out, plus it makes my skin feel great, so I'm really not wanted it to loose a part in my skin care routine.

Have you tried this or another UV essence?
