Styling Mum's Clothing #2

styling mum's clothing

Around this time last year, I uploaded a post [here if you want to check it out] where I had raided my mother's wardrobe and styled a piece of clothing she owned pairing it with items from my own wardrobe. It was one of the posts I most enjoyed creating so I thought it was about time to bring back the post idea for a second instalment and possibly make it into a series if you all would like to see more like it.

50's inspired outfit

The main piece of this outfit is the denim midi skirt. It's not a length of shirt I would have typically chosen for myself in the past, but I think that might just be changing.

Before styling this skirt I did spend a while searching through Pinterest trying to find some inspiration for what I should do with it and white seemed like a colour many people paired up with the light wash denim. I don't actually own much white but through tieing up this white shirt I think I might have just made it work. It definitely gives off a 50s vibe which I'm not completely against.

The look is finished off with a pair of a nude heel, my year 11 prom shoes to be exact since I don't really own a wide variety of shoes. This girl mostly lives in converses. But it works with the look and keeps the focus more on the shirt, plus heels always are flattering for my legs.

The written content is pretty short for this post, but I hope the pictures so enough talking for themselves.

Is this a series you would like to see more of on my blog? What other pieces of clothing do you think could have been styled with this denim midi skirt?
