Birthday Haul

Tuesday the 27th of March was the day I turned another year older, making the running total now nineteen. Birthdays have not really been a big thing for me ever. It's just another day of the year to me. Despite that, when talking to the girls on the twitter chat and them asking what I received for my birthday it seems that reading birthday haul posts are still of interest. So this year, for once, I thought I might as well write this post.

A quick disclaimer!
I'm in no way bragging or showing off the wonderful gifts I was kindly given. I'm thankful for them all and honestly was not expecting some of them. I hope you can take this as a fun post to read and enjoy it.

Most of my physical gifts were from my parents and sisters, who work as one unit, since there is never much I want so people simply gift me with money so I can save it for future things; maybe expect a clothing haul in the next month or so since I feel like sprucing up my wardrobe a bit for the Summer.

The first little goodies I received were the three Benefit minis, that were actually the few things I asked for. If you've been around for a while you'll know how much I love the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, and since my last one is coming to end of its run, my birthday seemed like a great time to ask for a new one. Plus the mini one is pretty good at lasting the span of time of a year, so perfect timing if we keep to the expiry dates. When my Mother was looking at this in Boots, they had an offer for three for 'something' so she asked me to pick out two other products. Without a doubt I went for the Benetint which I loved when I had it last year, the colour is gorgeous! Then for the final one, I went for something I never tried before the Goof Proof Brow Pencil. I've never used a pencil product for my eyebrows before, I usually stick with powder, but I hear so maybe people rave about it so I'm totally up for giving it a try.

Next up is The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. I had no clue I was going to get this, but let me tell you I was super happy. I've been wanting to try this forever! Linking to that this year is the year I focus on my skin it's perfect. What makes it even better was that it was my youngest sister (she's 13 years old) who told my Mother that I wanted this. I think it's the fact that she knew I would like it that makes me think how close we have become and that makes me rather pleased and overjoyed. Or maybe she just read my wishlist I have on here, but nonetheless, I'm chuffed.

The last few pieces from my parents and sisters were the typical body wash and chocolate gifts which I will never say no to, definitely when it's galaxy chocolate. As well as the J2O Apple&Watermelon Spritz drink, going to have to photograph the bottle and drink properly some time since it is such a gorgeous colour of pink. This last one came about since I don't drink alcohol, which is probably a standard gift for a uni student or 'adults' in general, but my parents like to make sure I don't feel left out when everyone else is drinking so this is my replacement; they're so sweet.

Final pieces are from my friend Leighann. I actually told my friends this year they didn't need to get me anything, and that I was fine with just them spending time with me. But she surprised me with the collection lipstick and matte nail polish, both cruelty-free which is something we both like to make sure our makeup and skin care are, as well as the salted caramel chocolate. Which I didn't even know she had subtly put into the conversation the other day when talking about what my favourite chocolate was.

Getting to the end of this post we realise how bad I am at signing off haul type posts. I hope you enjoyed reading about almost everything I have been generously gifted this year. I'm thankful for everything everyone has given me and shall definitely be putting them all to good use.

Let's hope this next year brings about some great things!
